It’s always more meaningful when you see a picture of the person who is helping you out — whether through email or on the phone.
Mary Jo Phelan has been with the Linen Gallery for about 10 years. She’s been through two physical moves of the store and the addition of technology. Mary Jo has been “Mom” to many of our younger employees and we don’t look forward to the day she decides to retire! She sleeps on Anichini, Yves DeLorme and Sferra and has a fabulous house that could be shot for a magazine.
Joan Field has been in retail for most of her life and joined us about three years ago. (Prior to that she was a customer!). Joan is very artistic — selling jewelry she makes in our store and wearing her new knit item! Joan is the one you reach on the phone who inevitably knows someone you know or has been to your fair city! She sleeps on Yves DeLorme and her newest addition is Arles!
We were very fortunate to get Kieran Andersen when she was looking for a part time job. A jewelry artist by trade, Kieran is just out and out artsy! She comes to retail via upscale women’s clothing and has a love for textiles. She has a very entertaining daily blog and sells her great jewelry on Etsy! She’s even turned old LJF napkins and YD towels into Clothes pin hangars! Kieran loves her Bella Notte.
Lisa Woods is our summer intern and is a freshman from Colorado State studying interior design. I’ve known Lisa since she was a baby and she is the same age as my son! Lisa is going to be responsible for teaching all of us about organic linens, starting our organic blog and launching our organic website. We will follow Lisa’s work this summer and see what her passion becomes!
And then there is me — I started The Linen Gallery because I love textiles!!!!! I sleep on a little bit of everything — but generally it is all percale — mixed in with a little jacquard weave here and there. If you were to go into my linen closet, you would find Anichini, Yves DeLorme, Peacock Alley, The Purists and Bonjour of Switzerland. Then there’s my table linen collection — which is unbelievably extensive. And I have enough Le Jacquard Francais tea towels to launch a separate store!
